  • FAQs About Instrumentation

    February 15, 2008|Commentaries & Editorials (Articles)|

FAQs: Points of Interest! This is a column that has been missing from the past few issues, but with the recent introduction of new instrumentation there has once again been a flurry of phone calls and e-mails asking about these devices and comparisons to other competitive products. I must say I am always reluctant to make comparisons between OIRF recommended instrumentation and the “other guys”. It has always been our philosophy that we should never run down the “other guys” to make our own products [...]

  • EAV Society

    February 15, 2008|Commentaries & Editorials (Articles)|

20 December 2007 Dear Mrs. Winsor-Sturm, Already one more year has passed and the year 2007 comes to an end. In a review of the year’s events some special features were prominent from the perspective of the IMGEAV in the old year: The publication of the 2nd volume of the new EAV book, the integration of the IMGEAV into the umbrella organization of the “Society for Empirical Medicine” including the new admission of EAV into the Baden-Baden Medicine Week [Congress], and the turbulence arising around the Secretariat. Perhaps also [...]

Farrah Fawcett Seeks 'Alternative' Cancer Treatment in Germany Farah Fawcett is receiving “alternative treatments” for cancer in Germany – and videotaping the experience for a possible documentary, a close friend of the actress’s tells PEOPLE. Craig Nevius, who produced Fawcett’s reality show Chasing Farrah and who is now overseeing the video project overseas, says that although Fawcett’s cancer has returned, her health has not declined. “She was declared 100 percent cancer free and then it came back,” he says. “She was discouraged by the treatments she got here. The [...]

  • Instrumentation Issues, Changes and Pricing

    September 10, 2007|Commentaries & Editorials (Articles)|

I wanted to start off this “commercial” portion of the September newsletters with some personal comments. You can see from the history of OIRF included in this issue of “The Bridge” that recommendation (and subsequent sales) of quality German instrumentation has been an integral part of the Institute almost from the beginning. We have been a legitimate non-profit organization since our return to Canada in 1984, and thus the commercial aspects of selling this instrumentation had to be done carefully. Of course the flip side of that legitimacy coin [...]

  • Bird Flu

    February 15, 2006|Commentaries & Editorials (Articles)|

Is a virus not responsible, but rather bad animal husbandry? H5N1 is “a time bomb which is only waiting to be detonated” according to Anthony Fauci, director of the US administrative body, the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. WHO (World Health Organization) and the [German] Federal Consumer Protection Ministry also convey this gloomy evaluation. WHO recommends, as a precaution, to stock up on Tamiflu and Relenza – medications which should help against the Bird Flu. The Robert Koch Institut [Berlin, Germany] advises conventional [...]
