Dear Colleagues, Friends and Supporters of the former Occidental Institute,
It has now been several weeks since the doors of Occidental Institute Research Foundation made that final closing “kathunk” and freed me from all its business and corporate obligations and responsibilities. Although they tell me I’m supposed to be “retired” I haven’t been idle. It does however take time and some thoughtful introspection to look at the future possibilities and consider how I will go forward into this next chapter of my life.
During these weeks since the announcement of the OIRF closure, I’ve received hundreds of emails and phone calls with reactions that ranged from “Wow!” to “It’s about time! You deserve a break.” to “I just took for granted you would always be there, what will we do?”. But the most overwhelming reactions were a combination of grateful thanks for all the work accomplished by our founder Dr. Walter Sturm and myself (Carolyn) over these many years, while at the same time wondering how we can preserve and continue this unparalleled legacy of history, information and publication.
And I thank you. Thank you to everyone who emailed or called to boost my spirits during this difficult and very hectic time – we didn’t just downsize, we imploded on a mega scale. But I am now very nicely installed in a small home office, and trust that I can independently offer you many of the services and products previously offered only through OIRF.
With the closure of OIRF I have set several personal goals going forward:
- Preserve and maintain availability of the OIRF legacy of materials, publications, courses, articles and newsletters for future practitioners
- Provide courses and training materials to acupuncture and EAV-type training organizations
- Monitor and analyze the ongoing research, activities and devices in the field of Biological Medicine in Germany, Europe and the USA, and then
- Continue to advise and educate interested practitioners about that current information by publishing ongoing informational releases as well as presentation of lectures and seminars.
And also to:
- Act as a liaison with a select group of German device and medical software manufacturers to ensure availability of quality Biological Medicine instrumentation
- Cooperation with alternate organizations offering training or sales within the North American (and English-speaking) Biological Medicine field utilizing my expertise and experience to organize, arrange, promote and host seminars, workshops and – yes, even – assist with tour programs to German and European congresses.
This is not going to be “the same as” OIRF. I have accepted the reality that OIRF has completed its mission and purpose. Hopefully others who are younger and more energetic will utilize a similar format and continue to bring this knowledge forward into the future. As I work diligently to preserve the legacy of OIRF, this now becomes my personal endeavor dedicated to a continuation of the research, education, publication and training activities that were a hallmark of that 46-year old non-profit society.
And I can hear you asking ‘and just what are her qualifications for such an ambitious program?’ Although I started my adult professional life as a classical and band musician and high school music teacher, my decades-long involvement with the work of OIRF has given me the tools and skills to offer you unique and valuable insights into the ongoing developments in this always expanding field. My Biological Medicine background includes:
- Founding director, administrator and executive director of Occidental Institute; the first English language acupuncture “school” in North America founded 1972 which over the years developed into the largest educational and promotional advocate of Biological Medicine until its closing in 2018.
- 35 years experience with medical and technical translation and literary research in English, French and German.
- Participation in every seminar, workshop and tour program sponsored by OIRF
- Participation in more than 35 Medicine Week Congress programs as well as events too numerous to count sponsored by German instrumentation, homeopathic and research organizations
- Training and certification in multiple Biological Medicine Methods including BioResonance Therapy, EAV, AMA, VEGA, Mayr Therapy, Ionized Oxygen Therapy, Magnetic Field Therapy, BioPhoton Therapy, the so-called Global Diagnostics and many others.
- As a teacher, lecturer and author she has already trained hundreds of practitioners from diverse English-speaking countries.
- Her passion and insight provide an overall view of the most effective German Biological Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic methods
And thus, with great pleasure I would like to introduce you to Praxis2Practice Consulting. You will see that the OIRF website is rapidly being minimized and closed. I invite you to visit with me on my new website at www.praxis2practice.com. Although you will still be able to contact me through the old OIRF email addresses, they will now all be forwarded to me through the new P2P.
For now, I will contact you via the old OIRF e-mailing list but will shortly transfer that information into P2P Consulting. If at any time you no longer wish to participate in this service, simply let me know and I will reluctantly but promptly remove your name from our lists. But I do look forward to hearing from you.
And looking forward . . .
I will again be presenting a lecture during Dr. Simon Yu’s AMA Boot Camp workshop Aug. 24-26, 2018 in St. Louis, Missouri. I urge all interested practitioners to register and attend. Contact Prevention and Healing to register.
Several other schools and organizations will continue to use the EAV Manuals and the basic Acupuncture course as their curriculum and will order the materials through P2P.
I will once again be participating in the Medicine Week Congress in Baden-Baden Germany Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, 2018. Follow this Medicine Week link for information and registration details. This year, it will be a personal trip since the OIRF Tour (#45) was cancelled. I know that several of our colleagues will be attending (Dr. Yu is speaking during the “Cancer Day”) and I will look forward to seeing you there.
In regard to devices and instrumentation, I want to be clear that I will no longer act as a distributor and promoter of specific devices. I am however in the process of updating my contacts with suppliers in Germany and Europe. In this way I can continue to make recommendations and suggestions based on the needs of your practice and will be able to act as a liaison for orders with some of the German companies. Watch for announcements about a new high-quality remedy software program which will work with all point and medication testing devices, and a number of other companies where I am negotiating some discounts for you.
I have recently renewed my cooperation with Mr. Dieter Jossner and Medical Electronics (BioPhotons, Goggles and UBS cup holders). Due to the challenges many of you were experiencing dealing directly with Medical Electronics because of international exchange rates, lack of credit card facility and order handling without email or internet connection, I have completed arrangements for me to personally act as a liaison between you and Medical Electronics for the purchase of these smaller patient and practitioner devices. Contact me by email for reduced pricing information and look for details on my website.
It is with great pleasure that I am once again able to write to you and I send warm summer wishes and kind regards to all. Be well and be healthy . . .
