In Memoriam

Peter Mandel
1941 – 2026

We say goodbye to Peter Mandel, an extraordinary person who shaped naturopathy for decades: Born in Breslau in 1941, his path led him early into the healing professions: in 1959 he began his training as a nurse, followed by qualifications as a medical lifeguard, chiropractor, acupuncturist and reflexology therapist. In 1970 he passed the naturopathic examination – a step that laid the foundation for a life’s work that radiates far beyond the boundaries of the profession.
With inexhaustible curiosity, a spirit of research and a deep devotion to the well-being of people, he developed countless diagnostic and therapeutic systems. His study visits to Hong Kong, his training in Traditional Chinese Medicine broadened his horizons and flowed into his work
As the founder of Esogetic Medicine, he combined knowledge, intuition and creativity into a unique approach that still touches many people today. In collaboration with biophoton researcher Prof. Fritz-Albert Popp, the ETD technique was created – an example of his ability to interweave scientific knowledge and therapeutic practice.
He was not only a theoretician, but also a designer: apparatus and instruments for colorpuncture, crystal and trauma therapy as well as IR and UV point therapy bear his signature. For his work, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from Medlcina Alternativa.
We particularly remember his great collegiality. He was a person who never kept his knowledge to himself, but passed it on generously and with genuine joy. In countless lectures, seminars and training courses – also for our association – he was present, committed and full of enthusiasm. Many colleagues owe him valuable stimulus, new perspectives and the inspiration to continue their own path in naturopathy.
But beyond his impressive professional achievements, it is above all the person who remains: a passionate red wine lover, a connoisseur, an inventor with sparkling eyes, a gourmet friend who appreciated life in all its facets. His enthusiasm was contagious, his ideas almost inexhaustible, his view of the world characterized by openness, courage and a deep trust in the possibilities of man.
We lose a pioneer, a visionary and a person who leaves his mark with his thoughts and work. His life’s work becomes a world experience – in the methods he created, in the people he inspired, and in the attitude with which he looked at the world.

In gratitude and silent remembrance.
Franca Rauscher, FDH- LV Baden-Württemberg e.V. and
Wolfgang Hegge, Hellpraktikerverband Bayern e.V.

Obituary Peter Mandel

The world of naturopathy bids farewell to Peter Mandel, an important pioneer of esogetic medicine. In the wake of this, the Union Deutscher Heilpraktiker Landesverband Baden-Württemberg e.V. pays tribute to his work: In over 50 years as a naturopath, he has developed numerous innovative diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. After his time as a paramedic, training in the medical field and the naturopath examination in 1970, he founded his own practice. In Bruchsal, the Energetic Terminal Point Diagnosis (ETD) was created, from which further methods emerged. In collaboration with Prof. Fritz-Albert Popp, he developed the color puncture. Later, together with Bruno Grieshaber [VEGA], he added induction therapy to his system. His life’s work includes over 200 diagnostic and therapy systems. His knowledge is preserved today by the International Mandel Institute, the Esogetics Company and the Peter Mandel Foundation in Lucerne. He trustingly placed the responsibility for his life’s work in the hands of his son Markus Wunderlich to ensure that his teachings are passed on in their original form.
